What does it mean to "be compliant" with labor law regulations?

All U.S. businesses with at least one employee are governed by state and federal labor laws. Compliance with these regulations includes displaying at least one copy of the most current labor law poster in each workplace location. As an employer, what are my federal compliance requirements?

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) governs federal labor law. Current federal regulations require all U.S. businesses with at least one employee to display the following six postings in each workplace location: Federal Minimum Wage, Employee Polygraph Protection, OSHA, FMLA, USERRA, NLRB and EEO. Each state generates its own set of specific employment regulations. How often do posters change?

If my state's minimum wage is (or will be) higher than the new federal minimum wage, which am I required to pay?

Your business's annual revenue, and whether you do business within just one state or across multiple states, typically determines whether your minimum wage requirements are driven by federal or state statutes. If I pay all my employees on salary, or at an hourly rate that exceeds the new minimum wage, do I need new posters?

Yes. Regardless of the wages paid, all U.S. businesses with at least one employee are required to display the most current federal and state labor law postings. Businesses without proper labor law postings risk significant fines and penalties for non-compliance.

Where should I display the posters?

GovDocs recommends hanging your posters in well-trafficked employee areas, such as a lunchroom, breakroom, conference space, employee lounge, or kitchen. Some states mandate specific posting instructions, which GovDocs will include with every poster order.

What poster formats are available?

Posters are available in sturdy laminated formats, English and Spanish translations (selected states), and convenient electronic documents that employers can print on demand from a standard desktop printer.

Can you notify me when labor law requirements change?

Yes. GovDocs offers two options to keep you "in the know" on changing labor law requirements. Is there one poster that combines state and federal postings?

GovDocs recommends separate Federal-on-One and State-on-One posters so you don't have to dispose of both posters if one of them has an update. We do offer state and federal combined posters to large corporate customers as part of a customized compliance solution.

Do I need any special software to print the electronic posters?

Electronic posters require Adobe Acrobat Reader at version 4.0 or higher, which is compatible with most PC and Macintosh operating systems. A link to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader will be included with all electronic poster orders, or download Adobe Acrobat Reader now.

Can I print the electronic posters multiple times?

Yes. You can print the posters as many times as you need to for one business address. When you purchase electronic posters you agree to order a new set of posters for each business location. The low cost of GovDocs' electronic posters make them a cost-effective compliance solution.

Can I see the poster image before I order?

Yes. As part of the online order process, you can view sample posters and see detailed product specifications, such as item dimensions.

How will I receive the posters?

For electronic posters, you will be prompted to download your posters as soon as you submit your order. You will also receive an e-mail with detailed printing and posting instructions, and a link to download your poster. Physical posters will be shipped according to the instructions selected at the time of your order.

What shipping methods are available?

Laminated posters ship via UPS. Specify standard ground delivery or next day air when you place your order.

How can I return a poster?

While we stand firmly behind the quality and accuracy of our products, we understand that sometimes items or orders need to be returned. The GovDocs' Return Policy is as follows:

Electronic items and services are non-refundable. Electronic items or Services can however, within 30 days of shipment, be upgraded to Laminated Items/Services. Please contact our Customer Service Center at 1-888-273-3274.

All other Products and Services: If you are not satisfied with an item you purchased, any product or service may be returned within 30 days of shipment. Upon receipt of the item at our Returns Center, a refund of the purchase price (minus any applied discount) will be applied to the order. Shipping and Handling charges are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Click here to access the Return Form that must accompany your product return.

What is the status of my order?

To check the status of an existing order, go to My Account (in the upper right corner of the screen), sign-in, click See Orders. Your order history will display, with a status for each order:

Pending Fulfillment - order is in process
Order may be able to be changed at this stage. Contact GovDocs Customer Service at 1-888-273-3274.
Pending Billing - order has been shipped
Click on the UPS Tracking # provided to track the shipment
Billed - credit card has been charged

You can click on the date of the order to view order details or print a copy.
